Vietnamese Philanthropy Initiative (VPI)

This holiday season, UVSA Ontario is conducting an ongoing VSA Philanthropy Initiative (VPI), from November 27, 2017 to April 27, 2018, with the goal of raising awareness within the Ontario VSA community about UNAVSA’s CPP beneficiary, The Pacific Links Foundation, an organization that empowers youth against human trafficking. By extension, we not only hope to raise awareness and fundraise for the charity, but to motivate and encourage VSAs to engage in their communities through any philanthropic efforts.

As UVSA Ontario, our aim is to raise $1000 and to get our region more involved with charity based initiatives. In order to accomplish this, there are several components to the project that we hope you all can take part in. Here are some things to look forward to:

  1. Pacific Links Foundation Webinar with UNAVSA – We will be discussing about CPP and Pacific Links Foundation and for every 75 views this webinar receives, the UVSA Ontario team will be doing some crazy dares.
  2. Crazy Cool Facts Advent Calendar – We’ve created an interactive calendar where each day (starting December 1st), you will receive a cool fact or video about CPP and Pacific Links Foundation and about other initiatives VSAs are taking part of this season. Be attentive because there will be a prize for those that keep up with it.
  3. #ArtistsForChange Challenge – A hashtag campaign to raise awareness and fundraise towards Pacific Links Foundation, which focuses on all methods of art as an outlet for individuals to express themselves and be the catalysts for change. This will be a continual effort until April and for every video that is made, UVSA Ontario will donate $1 towards Pacific Links Foundation. You can also donate towards this initiative here: https://fundly.com/vsa-philanthropy-i…
  4. Working Around the Clock in Toronto Volunteering Day – On December 18th from 10-9 PM, we will be helping with set-up, running the event by participating in activities and games with the children (5-9pm), and clean up. If you’re interested in helping us out, please message one of the execs or the UVSA Ontario page for more information.

We will be releasing more info throughout our project, so stay tuned for some fun, interactive, and exciting initiatives. ‘Tis the season for giving, so let’s give back to the community. 🙂
